Our Mission

Born from a shared passion to uplift and connect our community, the KōLab provides a safe inclusive space for members to thrive.

For kānaka maoli, we present a space for honoring the kupukupu — the mana that sprouts through the ideas that pull at our na’au — our viscera. A space to write, to think, to plan, to evolve, to ho’omohala pilikia - to develop known problems into solutions that affect our immediate world.

For settlers, settler descendants, and non-native business owners, we present a space to learn pathways of being accountable to the responsibility we have to Hawai’i land and aboriginal people.

To all, we offer a space dedicated to the kō, the concept of fulfilling one’s responsibility — to self, to family, and to community. We strive to present a fruitful foundation to freely share our gifts with one another, shifting our community towards a sustainable, connected network.
